CANCER CARE WITH HOMOEOPATHY – A BRIGHTER PROGNOSIS

For most of us the diagnosis of cancer comes as a huge shock, it sounds like a death sentence. It’s not just that, it’s the severe unbearable pain and sufferings that the patient associates with it that scares him even more. This popular belief even though real is not entirely true as most of the cancers today can be very effectively managed to reduce or slow their impact and even be completely eliminated in few cases.

In India, there are 1million new cases of cancer every year. A research on Cancer estimated indirectly that about 635, 000 people died from cancer in 2008, representing about 8% of all estimated global cancer deaths and about 6% of all deaths in India. The global number is predicted to rise to twelve million by 2030.

The purpose of this blog is to educate people on the basics of cancer, its prevention, management and cure. We would regularly update on the various life style changes and food habits necessary for prevention and treatment of this illness. More importantly on the latest advances in homoeopathy, yoga and natural cures for it.

DR. HAMER: “If the patient has been made aware of all the facts, he will no longer need to get frightened by his symptoms. He can now fully accept these as the healing symptoms they are – all of which had until now caused fear and panic. In the greatest number of cases, the whole episode will pass without any serious consequences.”

Cancer is a disease in which there is uncontrolled growth and division of cells due to damage of the DNA in these cells. DNA is the genetic material inside a cell that determines the functioning and characteristics of a cell. It’s the altered functioning of the DNA that leads to uncontrolled cell replication and growth. The DNA in a cell can be modified, damaged by a variety of factors, these factors can be broadly classified into 2 categories:

1) Extrinsic.

2) Intrinsic.

Before we go into details of these categories, let us first understand the primary cause of any cancer.

“Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar.” — Dr. Otto H. Warburg.

Dr. Otto Warburg received noble prize in 1930 for his discovery that the only environment in which a cancer cell can survive is an oxygen deprived, acidic environment. Dr. Otto Warburg found that when he lowered the oxygen levels of tissues by 35 % for 48 hours’ normal cells were converted into irreversible cancer cells. What this also tells us is that cancer is actually a survival mechanism of our body in an unfavorable environment.

Dr. Hamer discovered in 1979 (at the time head internist at a cancer clinic in Germany) that cancers are not “malignant” growths, but instead the result of biological survival programs (SBS) created to assist an individual during a biological conflict situation.

A man who is well oxygenated, alkaline and supplied with good nutritive food and no mental, emotional issues will never develop a cancer.

When oxygen fails to enter the cell the cell’s ability to control its pH is lost and the cell becomes quite acidic. This is caused by the appearance of abnormal metabolism (anaerobic glycolysis) in which glucose is converted (fermentation) into two particles of lactic acid. This production of lactic acid promptly lowers the ph within the cell to 6.5 or lower. The lactic acid damages the template for proper DNA formation. Messenger RNA is also changed so the ability of the cell to control its growth is lacking. Rapid and uncontrolled cancer cell growth and division occurs.

A good indicator about the environment in the body is to check the pH level of a patient. We can check the pH level of our body by using the pH strips. Acidic pH contains low levels of oxygen whereas tissues that are alkalotic have high levels of oxygen.

So, what are these extrinsic and intrinsic factors that lead to cancer.

Extrinsic factors:

Environmental factors can include a wide range of exposures, such as:

  • Lifestyle factors (nutrition, tobacco use, sleep, physical activity, etc.)
  • Naturally occurring exposures (ultraviolet light, radon gas, infectious agents, etc.)
  • Medical treatments (chemotherapy, radiation, immune system-suppressing drugs, vaccines, hormones etc.)
  • Workplace exposures (chemicals and other substances).
  • Household exposures (plastic, sugar, aspartine, microwave, genetically modified foods).
  • Pollution (water, air and earth, heavy metals, pesticides)

Intrinsic Factors:

  • Mental stress or trauma.
  • Family history of cancer.
  • Growing older.
  • ( diabetes mellitus, inflammatory bowel disease, systemic fungal infections etc).

Cancer is a multi-factorial illness, none of the above mentioned factors directly or always cause cancer. Its only an intrinsic environment coupled with one or many of the predisposing extrinsic factors that lead to this disease. Therefore, every single patient needs to be assessed and evaluated so as to see what all were the factors in his life that lead to cancer. It’s when all factors are addressed its treatment becomes holistic and complete.

We address and treat each patient for the following:

What are the physical and mental issues that caused the disease?

What general protocols can be followed as regards to lifestyle, yoga and homoeopathy for that particular type of cancer?

Selection of specialized homoeopathic remedy and yoga, specific and tailor made only for that individual patient considering patient’s requirements and physical, mental makeup.

Promoting mental and emotional well being of a patient. Help him manage with the impact of diagnosis on him.

Detoxification– Identifying the various toxins in a patient and detoxifying.

Providing necessary diet and nutritional advice.

We also provide care for the management of side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Stopping recurrence of cancer if the patient has already undergone surgery, chemotherapy etc.

Relieve pain and suffering in advanced and incurable cancers.
