PRANA – the World’s first Homoeopathy-Yoga Centre
Formally inaugurated by Mr Shah Rukh Khan and Mr Rajiv Bajaj
Pune, August 16th, 2013: PRANA celebrated its first anniversary and the first PRANA centre at Bajaj BrandView at Wakdewadi Pune was formally inaugurated by Mr Shah Rukh Khan and Mr Rajiv Bajaj. PRANA, a unique initiative inspired by Mr Rajiv Bajaj, MD Bajaj Auto, combines the principles of Homoeopathy and Yoga in harmony to ensure holistic wellness, for the first time in the world.
According to Mr Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto, “For a long time now I have been convinced that if we combine Yoga and Homoeopathy, we will have a potent tool for achieving holistic wellness. Homoeopathy acts on the nervous system using the immaterial medium (energy) of the simple substance. Yoga acts on the nervous system using the material medium (body) of the individual. Thus, these two specialized and complementary sciences ensure holism in our understanding and journey towards true health.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shah Rukh Khan, himself an excellent role model of fitness, complimented Mr Bajaj for this unique contribution to the society. True wellness starts with alignment. Homoeopathy aligns the mind while yoga aligns the body. Mr Khan was impressed with the PRANA centre’s capabilities to practice this philosophy of rejuvenating the healer within.
The first PRANA centre is an 8000 square feet state-of-the-art facility housing several homoeopathy consulting rooms, pharmacy, library, yoga halls, therapy hall and an auditorium. The expansive setting and the panoramic view of the centre creates an ambience conducive for health and harmony.
A team of twelve specialized doctors led by internationally renowned homoeopath Dr Sunil Anand and a team of yoga teachers led by Yogacharya BKS Iyengar’s disciple Mr Amit Pawar work in harmony towards ensuring the total well-being of individuals through safe and secure method of holistic healthcare.
Healing, education and research are the three objectives of PRANA. Apart from holistic treatment to patients, PRANA is engaged in imparting specialized knowledge to homoeopaths and students and in pioneering research – exploring the benefits of combining these two streams of knowledge. PRANA also boasts of a well-stocked pharmacy, including a lot of imported and rare homeopathic remedies.
In a year since the soft launch of this initiative, PRANA has positively impacted the life of 1140 patients and students. Formal inauguration of the centre provides further momentum to this initiative.

About Mr. Amit Pawar:
Mr Amit Pawar has been associated with Guruji Shri BKS Iyengar and the Iyengar Yoga Institute, Pune since 1996, learning and teaching at the Iyengar Yoga Institute, Pune. He has travelled with Guruji to teach yoga in Russia (2010) and China (2011).
